Benita Edgerton is a 20 year career early childhood educator, and professional nanny, turned hands-on reliable, resourceful, and responsible caregiver of the brand new, newborns and the older yet wiser members, the pets who you treat like your children, the farm that started out with one seed and one chicken or goat, and the house that you call home. She has thrived as a preschool teacher, babysitter, nanny, children's museum birthday party educator, and drop-in center manager, while using her powers of calming the chaos and crystal clear communication which have benefited both her, and her clients, over the years!

Although she has always loved children, they seemed to gravitate to her even from a young age, and started working with them professionally in 2004, her gift of caring for others has continued to flourish over the duration of her career. Since the beginning, a portfolio of annual trainings, educational experiences, employment opportunities and personal development have helped to create an asset to active households who value consistency in personalized care.

Originally Benita the Babysitter and More, and operating as a sole proprietship from 2014, she officially registered her business with the state in 2017 to provide customized babysitting and nanny services mainly throughout the Raleigh-Durham area. Through the birth of her daughter in 2018, and the world shutting down in 2020 she learned all about pivoting as a small business. She created and ran a summer camp, met new clients, learned new skills, and moved to a new city in August of 2022. The business name has been changed to better represent the expanded services. Benita's Best Care assists and supports clients within 45 miles of 27801.

The now 6 year old was promoted to assistant-at-play because she is experienced with children of all ages, takes her learning, playing and outside time very seriously bringing good energy and almost uncontainable joy to each environment!
